About Katie

Your child's well-being is my ultimate concern. My approach with children is to walk with them on their journey through difficult emotions. Through the use of play and art, children are able to work through many of their difficult emotions.  I truly believe children have a tremendous capacity for healing, I am merely serving as a guide for them to recognize their own internal strengths.

I believe a misbehaving child is a discouraged child. I like to teach caregivers how to use encouragement, figure out the goal behind a child's misbehavior, set limits, help children feel significant and to be kind and firm at the same time.

Life experience has provided me the coping skills I hope to teach other caregivers. Having experienced the trauma of divorce and the challenges of single-parenthood myself, I know I can be helpful to both children and caregivers who may be going through the same life transitions.

I am accepting of clients of all sexual orientation, culture, ethnicity and religion. I am also the mother of an amazing 16-year-old daughter. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor GA License # LPC009498, Registered Play Therapist #T3555 and a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator.
